Kingdom of Nerada appeals to game players as well as fantasy & fairytale lovers!

In response to questions, I will now clarify my readership for Kingdom of Nerada because it is broader than first intended. Discovering the reading age of Kingdom of Nerada Book 1 Isabella Airyfairyabelous & the Sleepy Dragon and Book 2 The Faery Enchantment has been an interesting journey. The Gunnings Index says it is high sixes, so 11 years and up, and middle years was certainly my original intention. I also recommend my series for voracious readers with reading ages of 10 and up. Surprisingly, older readers have expressed considerable enthusiasm and interest as well. That Nerada entertains game players, according to readers, is an exciting development. Amazon has listed Kingdom of Nerada as 13-18 years. How extraordinary.
Yet, language is a living, breathing, running beast, full of dynamics and momentum, brimful of spirited morphology, so although my accomplished mastery of Standard Australian English could vary from other Englishes, such differences should only enhance students’ literacy and vocabulary skills. I love the idea that students experience new sound combinations, musical and lyrical language, drawn along by the adventurous plot, and wish to point out that my spirited creative approach to language is designed to elevate literacy skills. Such fun to think of a child saying Airy-fairy-abel-ous, whose goal is to become Airy-fairy-fab-ulous, and the poor, enchanted, King Alfred, transformed into King Ping! Of course the prim and proper language dinosaurs neglect the importance of stringing together unfamiliar phonetic combinations to elevate literacy. They simply see my language as backwarditis!
One reviewer claims Kingdom of Nerada is also suitable for adults whom enjoy fairy tales and fantasy. I hope this discussion answers the questions raised about my target audience and approach to literacy. The goal is not only to share my wonderful four star series, but to enhance sales among those interested in promoting literacy skills in middle years primary and secondary students. The goal is certainly to cover substantial costs of developing such a series. I believe I have a perfect voice for middle years readers though it is clear I write for a range of audiences in genres, including education, playwriting, poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
