SANDART 1

My art journey continues. There are so many structural elements like the path and the rails, the sand and the bush, plus the swimmers and the surfers in the sea. The image invites the viewer and should have a wow moment.
Each time I paint, I develop an understanding of the most challenging aspects of image. So this painting, which I finalised today, is a mixture of watercolour, gel pen and marker. I have called it SAND ART 1. My plan is to create a series of Sand Art Paintings to capture sea life, my new journey. In this painting I capture the mini figures in the water, by outlining them in black gel pen. The water is frothy, but I am attempting lacy, which may occur in the future.
Only at home with my two dimensional inspiration could I begin to structure the painting. Painting is like building three dimensional objects on two dimensions, so I have been inspired by camera images. I do hope that by the end of my journey I can sketch a large canvas and paint an impressive oil painting. In the meantime, it is the vagaries of water colour, acrylic marker and gel markers that enable me to begin my journey in SAND ART.
