Bad Art update: Gradual progression at last!

One of the most intriguing developments in any emerging artist is learning to paint fruit. My late uncle gave us a still life oil-painting of a bowl of fruit, featuring perfect oranges, years ago, which I still admire. Each orange is perfectly rendered, with shiny luscious skin. I have been struggling to paint watercolour for quite a while now, but suddenly I am gaining more control. Today I thought I would share my apple. It all began with a new set of watercolour paints from a lovely art shop in Brisbane, but I had to wait until I returned home to top up the final coat of red. It looks good enough to eat now!
Having said that I have gained greater control, true masters of watercolour demonstrate magical mastery. Their colours explode on the page. Make the paint run! I have not yet developed loose watercolour mastery, but the nature of running watercolours continues to fascinate.
