Doughnut Dungeon under revision
Hi everyone,
Hope you are thriving this chilly November. While my Kingdom of Nerada series is receiving praise from a variety of people and places, I am revising Doughnut Dungeon, the next novel in the series, which is proving hazardous. Years ago I proudly showed my early draft to colleagues in a distant school. Since then I have withdrawn it to refine the work. Back then I was the only Doughnut Dungeon, for when I searched, nothing came up. Now, the story is different with many associated names and companies getting in on this magnificent territory. What is a writer to do?
Few opportunities exist for writers to discover the dos and don’ts about writing a series and linking novels. My current conundrum is working out whether this mischievous dragon in Seral the Doughnut Maker’s Dungeon, Scruffie, is actually Dottimar or not. Scruffie is renowned for his initial attack on Seral while he hunted dragons in the Emerald Forest. Now this is one of the challenges writers face when creating parallel worlds. Each element requires the spotlight of realisation and discovery for the novel to pop up properly. There needs to be a plan, but I find my works unplannable until I have worked through the hazardous material and finalised it all. Plan is a chicken and egg conundrum in writing novels, I find, though I know of others who plan the entire novel meticulously. I do hope Kingdom of Nerada Doughnut Dungeon is finalised in the next few months. I will keep you posted.
Ideally for profit (the bigger the better) is the idea but I will let you all know when profit occurs. I have heard my novel has reached an overseas destination, which is great, but as yet I am not listed in the New York Times Bestseller List. Will Kingdom of Nerada saves lives or is it just nonsense? Thank you to the multifarious online sellers and bookshops listing my Kingdom of Nerada Isabella Airyfairyabelous & the Sleepy Dragon and the sequel The Faery Enchantment as available. I appreciate the support.
