Paddocks & Ponies

I have just returned from a wonderful stroll along the luxurious lanes of lovely estates where paddocks of ponies graze. What’s more, I enjoyed it extremely because of one particularly important aspect.  Guess what? I have tracky-dacks with long-zip-up-pockets. They even have a smaller key pocket within the longer pocket. The true revolution for women is to do with empowerment! What could be more empowering than clothes with pockets for keys and mobiles? The subtle ways inconvenience disempowers is like a plot in itself!

Seriously, is there anything worse than leaving keys and mobiles at home due to lack of pockets? Anything can go wrong. So, you say, just lug a handbag or haversack around. Who wants to carry a bag out bushwalking or even urban strolling? More importantly, who wants to ask other halves, fully equipped with pockets-in-pants and jackets to lug our personal possessions around? This pocket revolution is a fabulous opportunity for fashionistas  to dig up designs with an eye-catching addition to our wardrobes.

Now, you may say, just go online or into a shopping centre and find such convenient creations. Easier said than done!  I spent an hour online looking for tracky-dacks to replace my favourites with the long side mobile and key fitting pockets, and tragically, found none at all. The central issue is that no fashion designer wants the elegance of the pant compromised, or so I was once informed.  So what is the solution?

Skip forward to the new generation and each of us may wear clothes designed to  naturally enable phone contact and electronic media access without us carrying mobile phones. If I can picture this occurring, there is a distinct possibility such clothing already exists, but is unavailable to the masses. So there’s much more to discuss here. By then our conundrums about pockets may well vanish, but are likely to be replaced with high tech issues.
