Isabella Airyfairyabelous & the Sleepy Dragon progress October 2023

Hi Everyone,

The good news is that Isabella Airyfairyabelous & the Sleepy Dragon, volume 1 of the Kingdom of Nerada series, is currently developing beautifully and should be ready for Print on Demand soon.  Sorry about last Christmas, but I ran into major technological struggles. As a result, I now have a more exciting and refined novel for fans of fantasy and younger readers. Now it’s the end of June and I’m editing this article, but the novel is still not quite ready. I do hope I can publish it soon. Thank you all for your patience.

I have several new developments later in the novel. Princess Isabella and Heinrich Merryman hunt dragons. They meet goblins on giant ponies in the forest. These goblins are suffering because of the anger of King Ping, for they ‘forgot’ their boss was Cyclops Ponder who went missing when he was enslaved by King Ping. The goblins have not paid Abby, Ponder’s other’alf. As a result, she has struck hard times and reported the matter to King Ping. Ping’s wrath leads to  major havoc among the goblins while Twig Spinner, Abby’s gifted wee one cyclops causes mayhem with his catastrophic and unusual gift.  (copyright all rights reserved, Marie Lukic.)

The wonderful aspect of writing fantasy is that it is fully parallel with the real world where millions upon millions are starving. Who’s who in our lives is also a big question as we confront the territory taking aspects of the modern world. I’m my own boss, so I have my own registered trademark,  my initials in the crest I designed above,  and  when I write my novel,  I own my own rights and am entitled to earn a living in the writing field as a trained professional writer.

Guess what? Teaching is far more lucrative at this stage and great fun! I return to life as a writer refreshed and invigorated by my delightful journey this year as a replacement in a Victorian secondary college. How enjoyable  the teaching profession is, and it is such a great joy to share my expertise with students. Being a teacher writer is always an exciting, invigorating challenge, one I embrace as I upskill in technology.
